Minimalism

John B. Marine | April 27, 2022 | | | | Be the first to comment!
Minimalism is about less is more. Minimalism involves downsizing. The idea is to live your best life having as little as possible. Can you live your best life without having a whole lot? This "John's Life Space" post involves minimalism. I will even share my own insights towards developing this mindset. I am not here to convince you to live minimalist, but I am providing insight on minimalism if you are considering living a minimalist lifestyle or want some insight on minimalism.

Minimalism

In most cases, having so little is usually grounds for having sympathy for others. It makes people want to pour into their resources and try to help people whom they feel are struggling in life. However, minimalism is not like that. Minimalism is about having so few resources yet still living a perfectly fine life.

We have grown as a culture to where having a big living space, having a significant other, and establishing a family makes someone a success in society. When someone lives with so less, some people think they are failures and probably wished they would live the lives of what society deems successful. Some people who live a minimalist lifestyle have all they need and do not have to have loads of money and resources to be happy. It is because some people make changes to themselves and their lives to live happily while not having the best of everything. Such people realize what makes them happy, and they don't rely on having a materialistic mindset to be happy.

When someone does not have all kinds of goods that give status, does it mean someone simply is not successful? Absolutely not. I can speak from personal experience. I honestly never felt bad because I wasn't wearing Nike sneakers or have a Starter jacket unlike other school students. I did not feel required to have what everyone else had in order to feel happy. I was okay having knock-off goods. At least I had certain goods. As I look at the idea of minimalism, I would be greatly served having some of the cheapest material as long as it lasted. I didn't care if I wasn't wearing Nike sneakers or have a Starter jacket. At least I had clothes.

NOTE: Now before I go into further detail, I want to advise everyone that living a minimalist lifestyle does NOT mean people are failures. Minimalist people are not those who failed to live the American dream (at least here in the United States of America). I am not suggesting minimalist types need help. I am just here to discuss minimalist culture.

Why Minimalism?

I will give you a lot of thoughts about minimalism to help prove my points on minimalism. Check it...

Someone would want to imagine what the big deal is with minimalism. Well for a lot of people, having the best of everything does not equate to happiness. When you really think about it, a lot of things we are blessed with or have are not exactly REQUIRED to live our best lives. Some things are almost merely non-essential to our survival. We don't care about that often times, but it is true.

Minimalism can pertain to not being flashy or boisterous. Would you rather drive a basic economy car all in stock form, or would you drive an economy car that has flashy graphics and various aesthetic arrangements (such as body kits, spoilers, etc.)? To the minimalist, an economy car is all someone needs. A minimalist is not at all concerned about being under pressure to the better furnishings to compete with other people. A minimalist may also prefer having bland-looking resources rather than flashy look-at-me resources.

As a sometimes fashion/beauty blogger (PLUG: Visit my fashion/beauty blog! Here: StyleSpace, by John B. Marine :) ), I hear of fashionistas who have a capsule wardrobe to express minimalism. This is where fashionable types get rid of clothes they don't really need or like much and instead stick with favorites. Fashionable types still want a decent wardrobe, but they want to do so without having to shop for new clothes all the time. So a minimalist in this regard will stick to a certain set wardrobe.

Believe it or not, long before I considered the layout of my blogs and some of my other social media material, I had minimalism in mind. I feel I can market myself without having a lot of fancy things. I am proud to have online material that are not filled with bloated nonsense. I also believe in minimalism when I do my videos online. I never had the best of the best, yet I made the most of what little I have. A fancy looking blog will get more attention than a bland one, but I always believed in quality over quantity.

Hopefully this section gives you some ideas on how a minimalist may think.

Minimalism Inspiration: Teemaree.

I want to offer a real example to help express the concept of minimalism. Teemaree, once a veteran of various forms of entertainment as well as being a spokeswoman, had achieved loads of success. She was also one of my favorite go-go dancers. She even spearheaded a first-of-its-kind reality show about the go-go dancing lifestyle. One would think someone like Teemaree is head and shoulders above her peers with this much success. Well, Teemaree admits she was mostly trapped and needed guidance. So what she did was a lot of deep thinking and faith. Today, Teemaree is a life coach, author, and creator of "Transform With Teemaree," "Invite God In," and "ALLSWELL Lifestyle." Her life coaching is a mix of offering life advice as well as providing religious insight. Speaking of Teemaree's insight, let me share this with you:

^ Who Is Teemaree?

Teemaree isn't the only example of minimalist lifestyle. She is the best example to me to discuss minimalism that I can provide. I am using Teemaree as an example to help set up discussion minimalism using a real-life example.

Minimalism: How to Start?

Minimalism is not something that can be easily implemented. I do not know all of the nuances of minimalism, but I may help you get started. I will share some of my own minimalist insights and thoughts to help give you some inspiration if you want to take on a minimalist lifestyle. Follow my lead...

Minimalism: What Do You Need?

The first thing to consider about minimalism is to think about what you have and what you need. Especially if you are going to live "off the grid," you have to seriously consider what things are important to you in the moment. You will have to learn to sacrifice some comforts in trying to live the minimalist life you wish to live.

If I lived as a minimalist, I am very involved in technology. So what I would need is powerful WiFi Internet. I want to hold onto my two TVs, my HDTV monitor, my printer, and my Chromebook. I may even want to go from a PC to a decent-spec laptop. If I had the money, I'd invest in an HP laptop that costs around $500 USD (or maybe $600 USD) that has better specifications than my 2014-ish budget PC. A lot of space on my desktop would be gone, and I could use it around the house even if power goes out. As a gamer, I want to hold onto my systems. I don't need a gaming PC when I can do just fine with a simple PC or laptop that can still play a good amount of games while also serving as my personal PC/laptop when not gaming. I would want to cook with a microwave and an air fryer. I would want a place with decent lighting. I feel lighting lightens my mood.

Most important about minimalism is making money. You need to find some sort of revenue stream or grind to stay financially afloat. There isn't much I do to generate income. So in this regard, I would struggle unless I had some proper form of making money.

You also must consider utilities. If you can invest in solar power, it would be cleaner for the environment and possibly even energy efficient. You also need decent plumbing to handle things like taking baths and showers as well as washing dishes. If you plan on getting into farming, you certainly need to consider decent utilities for planting gardens and such.

Minimalism can be a challenge if you have a significant other and/or a family. Be mindful of needs for you as a couple and in maintaining a family when being minimalist. You have to account for taking care of your lover/spouse in addition to your family should you choose to live as a minimalist couple or as a minimalist family.

These are just a number of things to think about when wanting to think minimalist.

Minimalism: Where Would You Live?

Do you prefer living within the big city, living in the suburbs of a major city, or out in the country? Do you even want to live in your current state or country or move elsewhere? You want to be able to live in a place where you can comfortably live your life. The popularity of tiny houses these days make for a unique challenge of trying to live without having to pay high mortgage rates. You would be surprised at how some people maximize their lives living minimalist style. If you do think about the tiny house lifestyle or convert a van or bus into a home, that is something else to consider your minimalist lifestyle in.

I have seen people live in places ranging from tiny homes to vehicles converted into homes. This even includes people who have trailer homes. If I had one such home, I kind of would want a two-story home to possibly enjoy great views and maybe even sit on the balcony outside. Because I am so much of a city person, I feel an affordable housing option within an uptown setting or downtown setting would be the best for me. I wouldn't want to shy too far away from family and friends here in Houston. Look around on various tiny home retailers and builders to think about your minimalist lifestyle.

Minimalism: Sacrifices.

Just like almost anything in life, you have to learn to make sacrifices. A lot of the luxuries you are accustomed to can be given up to live the minimalist lifestyle. Even though air conditioning seems necessary, it is actually a luxury. Living here in Texas, I can't afford to sweat in all of this Texas heat! So I would need a great solution for air conditioning.

If you are the materialistic type, you have to realize some goods you enjoy aren't always goods you NEED. Fashionistas- that means you can do without Louboutin pumps, Michael Kors handbags, Chanel espadrilles, and various other luxury goods.

Most importantly, the biggest move you can make in adopting minimalism is to drop your materialistic lifestyle. Minimalism forces you to think less about owning everything and only focus on essentials. You can live better by understanding the essentials rather than feel like you need material goods to be happy. I will leave this discussion with a little quote:

"You can't have everything. Where would you put it?"

-Steven Wright

I want to present some Final Thoughts on this topic to close out my minimalism discussion. Please look at the next section.

Minimalism: Final Thoughts

Minimalism is about living your best life having only so many resources. Minimalists shouldn't be seen as those who fail in life; instead, minimalists are more concerned with making the most out of live by having the least of resources. Do not think a minimalist has given up on life or should be living a luxurious lifestyle. In fact, a lot of minimalist types have all they need to live a great life. They just do not need status symbols to prove their worth to the world. They also do not need status symbols to be happy with their lives.

A minimalist does not need help; minimalists just choose to live their lives without many of the luxuries many of us consider essential. While minimalists try to live with less, they don't need help or need to get psychological help. If you are a minimalist, you don't need a mansion, expensive cars, fancy gadgets, and the like to live happily. You live on bare essentials. Minimalism allows you to focus on more important things without being bombarded with many [usually unnecessary] things.

If you do choose to live a minimalist life, you need to plan carefully. Think about all of your immediate needs and wants. It is not easy to live a minimalist lifestyle without actually planning ahead. Be prepared to make sacrifices and let go of things you don't think are essential to you. Adjusting from normal life to minimalist life will NOT be an easy transition. However, moving to minimalism or tiny living is possible and doable.

Minimalists have not given up on life or need help; they just are living with as few resources as possible based on their needs. Not everyone is successful with the amount of money they have or the goods they own. They don't need outside help or sympathy for living a simple lifestyle devoid of status symbols. Minimalists just simply make "less is more" work. When you think about it, we do not need too much to live our best lives and to be happy. If we were not so fixated on having certain goods and resources to be happy, life can be much more enjoyable than what many of us make it out to be. Minimalists should be commended for helping a lot of us realize this about life in this regard. So if you are considering going minimalist, good for you! Minimalism is the best way to admire and appreciate what it really takes to live happily and freely.

Perfectionism

John B. Marine | February 29, 2020 | | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Perfection is about being best of the best. To some people, perfection is the ONLY way to accomplish something. Some people can not live with being less than perfect. People will make mistakes. It is how people deal with perfection that make us who we are and how we deal with things when they are less than perfect. Can you live with failure? Can you live with your mistakes? Some can; others can not. So this blog post has to do with perfection.

Perfection

What is perfect? To many, perfect means you do something to where nothing can be done wrong and that it is completely foolproof. It means you have done everything to where there is no fault or dispute. It is as if no wrong can be done. While perfect is what many people want out of life, not many can live with making mistakes. Perfection can take you only so far. One can become fixated to perfection to where the thought of potential failure is out of the mindset of most people. At that point, one may have already failed if one only looks at being perfect and successful. It is this one-track mindset that defeats most people before they even endure failure. It is also important to note that what people consider perfect varies from person to person. If you look at perfection like sports, a team that finishes undefeated all the way to a championship or simply an undefeated season is perfect. A team that has never trailed in any game or season can be considered perfect.

Being a Perfectionist.

Most people can't live with making mistakes or being seen as a mistake. So a perfectionist tries to make the most of everything to where there are no faults whatsoever. Everything has to be done in a way to where few or no mistakes are present. Things that are perfect have no faults of any kind. To accomplish this, one has to focus on trying not to fail. Sometimes, someone may be nearing perfection without even knowing or acknowledging it. As another sports example, a Perfect Game in baseball or softball is where a pitcher records Outs against all of the opposing batters without issuing a walk (or base on balls). If a Walk is issued in a Perfect Game attempt, the Perfect Game ends and is now playing for a No-Hitter. Perfection and perfection attempts come in many forms and entail a number of factors.

Alright- I will admit. I am a perfectionist myself. I focus too much on trying to make everything as perfect as possible, or I feel under pressure to make sure everything is done properly. Even I have made countless mistakes that I am either aware of or may not be aware of. I still do everything to the best of my ability because I know what I am capable of and what I want out of anything I put my mind to.

Since I mentioned this ad nauseam, let me get to the next talking point...

Can You Live With Not Being Perfect?

Let us say your pursuit of perfection falls short. Can you live with yourself, or do you consistently lament missing out on historical greatness? Your own passion and dedication determine if you feel perfection is the way to go. You may even find your inability to do things perfectly makes you a failure. Even the most successful entities have stumbled. You can't be perfect all the time. Living with some sort of blemish on your talent can take its toll on you. Understandably, while mistakes will be made, we become disappointed. The real issue is in trying to not be too fixated on perfection.

Now for some final thoughts.

Perfection: Final Thoughts

Focus more on doing things as best as you can rather than chase perfection. Sure, perfection will make you better regarded and better respected, but countless people have committed and been involved in various failing moments. Do not be afraid to accept or admit failure. Just make sure to rebound proper for the future. Perfection will only stress you in trying to always do things to where they can go no wrong. Do not put yourself under any unnecessary pressure to be perfect.

That's all. Thank you for visiting "John's Life Space!"

But I decided here to focus entirely on advice for all of you from different bloggers. So I hope you enjoyed this post.

Life is tough. While I can't make lives better for others, I at least will try to contribute to the solution rather than add to the problem. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Struggles

John B. Marine | June 16, 2018 | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Struggling involves experiences of low points in hopes of better and more productive times. Not all struggles are harsh. These are moments to focus and stay committed to reach positive outcomes. However, if a struggle becomes too harsh, it leads to frustration and a lack of confidence. No one wants to be in that position. You want to have focus and concentration but usually not at the expense of going crazy trying to accomplish a task.

EVERYONE struggles. It is a fact of life. People can struggle with trying to understand subjects in school or college. Financially-struggling families often struggle trying to make ends meet. Some people struggle at their job and hope to be better at their craft. Struggling is a part of life. What becomes a problem, though, are unnecessary struggles. Some people struggle with things they normally should not have to struggle with. These are times when we can try offer a helping hand. These times even include worrying about things outside of our control. Tough as it may be, you can only handle what is immediately in front of you.

A healthy way to deal with struggles is to remind yourself that getting what you want involves going through struggles. You are going to have to experience tough times to reach positive or favorable outcomes. Be ready to struggle especially if what you want will take time and effort to obtain. So while struggles can be daunting, it is sometimes worth it if you want the best life has to offer. Struggles themselves are moments to think about what is out in the world that you can obtain and realize what it takes to get those things. They make you realize the importance of wanting or having certain things and justify the desire to get something.

If you let struggles bear your down, you will end up being more frustrated and unable to successfully get something. So don't let struggles overwhelm you. Instead, try to be more focused and deal with only what you can deal with. Struggles should make us stronger and be more focused. Maybe you should consider these things as you go through life and trying to get what you want in life and out of life.

I hope you will be able to deal with struggles in a healthy way. That said, I'd like to thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Productivity

John B. Marine | March 02, 2018 | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Being productive is a good way to establish yourself. According to a report, March is told to be the least productive month of the year for most people. This post is about productivity and being productive. Hopefully this will offer some insight in being better in this department. So let's begin!

Productivity at a Glance

There is no worse feeling for me than that of not getting anything done and no progress being made. Working alone or with others can help or hinder being productive. Everyone must be working and focused to make productivity work. What happens when are NOT productive? Well for one, nothing gets done or takes a while to get done. A number of factors can contribute to whether or not work gets done. We all have to try to work to the best of our ability on anything we take part in or are assigned to do.

More than anything, I think physical and/or mental fitness can play a serious role in being productive. If you lack the energy to do things, you will not be productive. Productivity involves being fully focused and able to do anything you set your mind and heart to. Do you have to be at your very best to be productive? Well, not really. You may be sick or not fully healthy yet still be fully productive. It is much the same way that you don't have to be slim and slender to be healthy. Some people may be healthy despite being overweight. What you must remember is that in order for tasks to be complete, you have to make the most of your effort to work as well as be able to complete a task in an efficient manner. Even tasks that may take longer than others need to be done in an efficient way to complete tasks without exceessive losses of time.

You have to motivtate yourself or have someone try to motivate you if you lack the energy to be productive. I usually am hard on myself if I try to complete a task that could be completed in a shorter amount of time than what I usually end up with. If you beat yourself up over this, you won't get anywhere. So you need to have some patience and some promise. Motivate yourself; just don't punish yourself or be too hard on yourself.

If it seems you can't make yourself more productive, take a break from what you're doing and figure out what you need to do to try to complete tasks better. You may need to take a new approach to enhance your chances of being more productive. Most of all in being productive- do not give up or deem something impossible. If there is no hope of getting the outcome you are hoping for, then it is okay to give up on something. You still must try not to let even the littlest of shortcomings alter your level of productivity.

Final Thoughts.

As Final Thoughts for productivity, just try to keep yourself motivated and focused. Try to get yourself "in the groove," so to speak, to try to complete tasks. Also try to complete tasks in an efficient manner if you can. It is probably best if you can try to work with others to complete the same task. If you do not have others to work with you, then it is up to you to deliver in a solo effort. These factors all contribute to how productive you can be.

I hope you have yourself a great day and that my advice has helped. I don't have the best advice all the time, but I at least try. Remember to Subscribe and/or Follow if my work means something to you. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Potential

John B. Marine | February 07, 2018 | | | | Be the first to comment!
Potential is hope and promise towards success. It is not success itself, but more like what success is possible. One must have hope in something for it to be successful. Without this hope, potential is wasted. Nothing can ever be successful if no one believes success is possible. So potential comes in as a means of what can be possible. For potential to really matter, the vision must be realistic. For instance, not every seed or sapling grows to be full and complete plants or trees. When you see something that has potential, it means you see something greater than what something originally is. This kind of thinking is always wishful and promising. How you get someone or something to realize (or even exceed) its potential depends on your ability to make magic happen.

Here is a unique case for me. There was a device in the mid-late 2000s that was heavily backed by funds. It was called the OUYA- an Android gaming console. It was a chance for independent game developers to develop games for this gaming console. However, it became an utter failure in the eyes of many people. I, for one, was intrigued at the possibility of developing my own game for the OUYA. The OUYA essentially was bought out by the Razer Forge TV. Then some of a lot of the developed games ended up with this Chinese firm. Still- the main point of all of this was the vision of making quality (or what was deemed as quality) games for the OUYA. If I didn't see the potential and try to recognize that potential, then I never would have bought an OUYA in the first place.

Now for another realistic example of potential. "John's Life Space"- which you are reading now, is my latest blog. I have potential to try to grow it to be as much as my other blogs. How do I realize that potential? For one, I at least have to keep the content flowing. Everything else hinges on how the rest of the world views my material and makes it popular. The potential of all of my blog here is there- will it be realized? It's up to you!

Part of potential is in realizing it. The other part of potential is working to make whatever vision possible. You still have to have a vision of making something better than what it is at present. Once potential is realized, how do you act to make something better? That all is up to you. This is true whether you are trying to tap into the potential of someone or something, or if you you are trying to find potential within yourself. Either way, the quest to make good things better is a long and grueling task. But regardless, ANYTHING is possible once potential is realized and tapped into. So keep working to make the impossible possible!

Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

"I Am NOT My _____!"

John B. Marine | February 01, 2018 | | | Be the first to comment!
There are many ways to think of others. What is NOT fun is thinking of someone for an aspect that defines their personality. For example- seeing someone for their body fat or as a sexual pleasure object. When you think of someone for something besides their personality, it brings them down and makes them live, but not exist. The one thing you don't want to think about when thinking of other people is to regard them for qualities that do not match their personality or character. Here are a few examples...

So often overweight people get put down as being thought of as blobs of fat. Okay- so maybe someone is overweight or is a bit wider and bigger than average people. Does that disqualify such individuals from being regarded as positive influences? Does that disqualify such people from being immensely caring and friendly? Even worse is to think of overweight people as walking death. In this sense, how do you know if someone has underlying health issues? Maybe someone overweight could be fairly healthy even if they don't look healthy.

Another sad case usually involves some females. More often than not, some are disrespectful towards females by regarding them only for their physical features rather than regard them for being genuine people. It is understandable how some individuals have certain assets that make them unique. However, I think you mostly disregard what kind of person one is when you only regard them for one certain aspect of their bodies. For example, some males only regard a certain female for having nice buttocks and not much else. Some females may have big breasts, and again- some ONLY regard such females for having big breasts. Do some people actually forget that these are people?

I am not sure how certain females are towards males, but I think there are some who only think of some hunky males as being muscles... and not much else. My out-of-shape self is no hunk. At least I still have aspects about myself outside of my image that define who I am as a person.

The "What I Be" Project.

A project was started by a person named Steve Rosenfield in which people discussed being defined ONLY by certain aspects of their lives or their body image that are NOT tied to who they are as people. The insecurities of others are written on their faces and other parts of their body to make for powerful photography. A lot of the concepts expressed in this blog post are about the same things that the "What I Be" Project is all about. In simpler terms, this project shows that you can disclose your insecurities, but these insecurities do NOT define us as people. The WIB project has become incredibly popular since. It even became the top art story on Huffington Post.

Here are some example videos of people who participated in the "Who I Be" project (WARNING - some mild language):

^ What I Be Project - Roberto "I am not my exterior"

^ What I Be Project - Samantha "I am not my weight gain"

If you would like to learn more about this project, please visit: www.whatibeproject.com.

Final Thoughts.

If you are going to judge someone, at least get the opportunity to learn more about someone before you judge them. Even if someone is not who or what you would consider acceptable to be friends with or communicate with, at least learn to look within certain people before you judge them. The proverbial "judging a book by its cover" does not always work. A person's most striking quality may be the best way you remember someone. However, that striking quality or those striking qualities do NOT define someone as a whole. So go easy on looking for ways to attack people. People would rather exist in society than just live in society. How you think of someone can be damaging, especially if you think of something about them outside of their personality and character.

So think twice before you think about somebody for a quality besides their personality or character. It is okay to have certain aesthetic qualities that make us unique, but they do NOT define who we are as people. Who we are as individuals are MUCH more than any physical features. It is even worse when we are ONLY seen for certain external features and not for our personalities. It is okay to not be slim. It is okay to have an arousing body. It is NOT okay, though, to only regard people for certain unimportant features about them. Can you see the person within how someone looks? People, whether you like certain ones or not, are MUCH more than whatever non-important features are. People have hopes and dreams. People are fit to love and be loved. It is disrespectful to disregard such aspects of people or lower individuals more than who they really are as people.

I think it is too bad we regard people for things that don't even define who they are. Yet still, we do so anyways; and in turn, people have lowered self-esteem and do not feel as loved around other people. It is a terrible shame. But do some of us accussed folk care? Absolutely not. Some of us insenstive folk feel better knowing we potentially ruined the life of someone who we don't even care to know or think we know. Ruining someone's self-esteem in this sense can bring such individuals to think less of themselves and feel completely worthless. In extreme cases, they may even hurt themselves or others. Are you sure you want to take that chance of regarding someone so poorly to where you neglect someone to have hopes and dreams, good health, and love?

In other words...

People are NOT one specific aesthetic aspect of them!

I bring up depressing topics like this because I want to try to make life better for others by bringing up hurtful topics and thoughts. We learn to live better lives when we can make positives from even the most depressing issues. More importantly, I feel it is best to take these horrible topics and offer positive light and guidance. We can make the world a better place, or we can keep things as is to where we are more reluctant to die rather than make the most of what time we have in this world. Your call. Either way, thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

InspireU2Action

John B. Marine | January 04, 2018 | | | | Be the first to comment!
#InspireU2Action is a motivational initiative by Julie Barbera. Julie is the sister of inspirational singer Amy Barbera. The Barbera surname is familiar if you follow my "John's Blog Space" content. Here on "John's Life Space," I am using this blog post to promote Julie's inspirational initiative to all of you. It is a chance to share something with you all that you may find of great interest. So welcome to my life issues blog!

NOTE: This blog post is based on a post done originally on my main blog, "John's Blog Space." But rather than copy-and-paste an old blog post, this is a completely new and different post. That is what I do when making blog posts based on older posts from other blogs.

InspireU2Action

This is a lovely initiative by a lovely lady. Let's learn more about InspireU2Action. I need some kind of way to identify this post. So therefore, I am including this image to set the mood:

InspireU2Action Julie Barbera
^ from: (Twitter) - Julie Barbera, founder of InspireU2Action- a motivational and inspirational initiative.

What is InspireU2Action? InspireU2Action is a motivational tool from the mind and heart of Julie Barbera. She lends her inspiration and motivation to help others to be better people and be strong against all the worries of the world. She does so utilizing powerful messages in her podcasts.

What is important to note is that Julie Barbera provides the basic steps towards being a better person. Everything is built up step-by-step and includes some of her own personal insight. She delivers her messages in a unique and understandable way. Everything is paced at a level to where you know you can be inspired and where you know you can be better. Only thing is, she helps you get started if you are unable to motivate yourself beforehand. That really is the emphasis behind InspireU2Action. If you can not motivate yourself or get yourself motivated to positively change your life, then you will not be able to make yourself better for the future.

When not sharing her messages via podcasts, she shares her insights on social media ranging from Facebook to Twitter to Instagram. If you want to be a better person and look at the world and life in a different way, give Julie Barbera and InspireU2Action a try. InspireU2Action is getting a little more exposure as the site now offers a shop where you can buy merchandise so you can help financially support InspireU2Action.

InspireU2Action Sample.

Here is a sample of Julie Barbera and her motivational and inspirational work from one her earliest podcasts:

^ Power in One Small Step

Besides the advice, how about the sisterly love shown in this video? :) Julie with the advice; Amy with the music. Got to keep it in the family, you know!

For More Information...

You can visit the official home page of InspireU2Action at www.inspireu2action.com/. You can also find a link to InspireU2Action by looking at the "Positive People and Positive Places" section in the sidebar of "John's Life Space."

If Julie Barbera (or even Amy Barbera) is/are reading this, I am hopeful this blog post will help gain you some exposure. Best wishes to you in keeping this initiative going.

And if Amy Barbera happens to be reading this, keep providing the beautiful music you sing. Both you and Julie are wonderful people. You can learn more about Amy Barbera and her music by going to www.amybarbera.com.

"All You're Ever Going to Be..."

John B. Marine | December 21, 2017 | | | Be the first to comment!
All you're ever going to be... is something less than what you actually are. No matter how much you try to improve and get in the good graces of others, you keep being downgraded and disrespected. Like you can be only SO good. Being talked about in this context makes you feel you can never be better than what you can be. Basically- why try to improve for someone who believes in you only so much? If you can be the highest elected official of your city or nation, at least be regarded and believed in at this specific level. At least believe in someone to that level to where someone can go above and beyond to be at their absolute best. But, no... some people only have so much faith in someone to where failure is inevitable. So in this case, why bother trying to encourage someone who isn't capable of so much encouragement? It nearly defeats the purpose of helping someone be their absolute best. If all ever someone is going to be is something less than what they are capable of or potentially capable of, knocking someone down to such a low level makes that person feel worthless.

Certain factors always get in the way as to someone being better. For example, someone may regard someone and believe in someone to do something successfully, but that one encouraging person thinks the one he/she is encouraging has a habit of not being able to complete tasks successfully or giving up in crucial moments. Everyone has their deficiencies. Surely I have not been perfect or successful doing things. However, I'd rather have my issues and shortcomings rather than have someone feel only so confident in my abilities. Someone can always push to be better; but if you are going to kick somebody down because they will ultimately fall short, then why try to encourage someone? If a teacher or a professor does not believe his/her students will learn lifelong lessons and make themselves better, then why would such people still give lectures and lessons? Why doesn't the teacher/professor just fail all of his/her students and move on with their lives? Would the coach of a sports team encourage his/her players to fail because that coach only thinks so much of that team and its players? If so, the players would have left a long time ago because they would hate to play to fail.

So where am I getting at here? Simple- everyone can improve to make themselves better. Do not talk about someone like they can only be SO good. When I look at certain people, I think they can be capable of great success. Reaching that great success is different for everyone. You at least need to have enough heart to believe in someone to where they can reach those great levels of success. People being encouraged do not have to be perfect or adept- they just need to perform like they are capable of almost anything. You can't do that when you keep thinking of people ultimately becoming failures. What is the point of encouraging someone when you think of and regard people as failures? So if you are going to encourage someone, help that person to realize what he/she is capable of. Make that person have to seek his/her greatest qualities to accomplish tasks rather than hate them for their flaws. If the goal is success and promise, give people a chance and let them work to become as successful as you think someone can be. If you think someone is ultimately going to fail, either change your expectations or do a better job helping someone become better. The world's problems are not going to solve themselves. You have some sort of influence to help make things better. Why not take advantage and build a relationship that will pay high dividends and make a difference? It's up to you...

These are all depressing thoughts, but it feels so terrible to only be given so much credit and only be given so much of a chance when we can be capable of so much more.

I want to keep "John's Life Space" as a blog of issues you can relate to and get advice with. If there are relevant life issue topics of any kind that you want me to discuss, please be sure to contact me with your ideas. Meanwhile, thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Monday Motivation

John B. Marine | November 27, 2017 | | Be the first to comment!
#MondayMotivation gets us ready for a new week. Many people lack the motivation or desire to start a new week after (hopefully) having a good weekend. Most pretend the weekend should be extended rather than working Monday. Trouble is, we don't have that luxury. Since people lack the courage or desire to start a new work week, we have so-called Monday Motivation to try to get us through another week. This blog post is just a few thoughts to consider when Mondays come.

Monday Motivation

Let me just find a picture to set this post up and identify it. This is also a good picture to express some of the main points to this blog post:

Monday Motivation
^ from: (Twitter) - It's Monday. Are you ready for a new week?

Why do we need Monday Motivation? While you have had an amazing weekend, reality and work come to fruition as a new week starts. Mondays will do that to you. Many people on social media use Monday as a chance to motivate people to get through the upcoming week or to simply offer positive thoughts. No matter what the case, Monday means many things to many people. How you muster up the energy to go through Mondays is purely your call.

How I View Mondays.

The weekend awaits, but I must first worry about the week ahead. I would rather not have to worry about going through another regular weekday swing. I almost want the weekend to be extended. But as we all know, we have to do our daily grind before relaxing for the weekend. We all wish we can enjoy the weekend and enjoy relaxing; but at some point, we have to be active and productive with our lives. We all have to make a living and build for the future. Monday is the start... or should be the start, of hopefully making another normal week into something special.

How Should You Take Mondays?

When I would post material on Mondays, I do so knowing that there are those who don't want to deal with a new weekday swing that may seem boring and unfulfilling. That is.. if you let Mondays be dragging. I always look at Mondays as a new opportunity to be amazing. Think of Monday as a basis to finish the week on a positive note. Not every Monday is a great one. Besides- Monday could be the start of new challenges, and you will need the rest of the week to rebound from those challenges and finish strong.

Mondays can also trigger a time for you to think about how you want to take what is given to you and make the most of every opportunity to make the week special. Not every week has to be an overwhelming success to be worthwhile. Also take into account that not everything will go your way. Maybe what you want to accomplish will take more than a week. No matter what, you are best served looking at Monday as the start of new opportunities as opposed to Mondays being the genesis of yet more unfulfilling moments and broken promises.

One time on Twitter, someone tweeted at me saying that Monday is just the start of absolutely nothing. Well, Monday will mean nothing if you let it mean nothing and if you don't want to work to make the week to come be special. A new week can be the start of something productive if you remain hopeful and have a vision as to how you want the week to be a success to you. Monday is the start of a new week and the many opportunities that may exist. You may even need to make your own opportunities. Still- Monday is as much the start of new opportunities to be amazing as much as it can be (to many people) the start of yet another time of work and worry.

How Should You Be Motivated to Make Monday Special?

Always remember that Monday should be the start of trying to wonder how to make the upcoming week productive and successful. Have yourself a vision of what you want to accomplish for the upcoming week. Take into account what all can enhance or derail your goals for the current day or the current week. Certain aspects can get in the way- both anticipated and unexpected. Once you take into account all that can go right and all that can go wrong for the upcoming week, the thing you can do best is simply live the week as best as you can. Good luck!

The next section will have some final thoughts of mine to share on this topic. Read on!

Monday Motivation: Final Thoughts

You can either open yourself to new opportunities when Mondays come, or you can let Monday trigger another week of boredom and lack of productivity. Your call. I suggest you look at Mondays as a chance to take a potentially boring week and make the most of what is given to you. Even if the current week isn't going well, you can at least be proud knowing you did what you can to make the week special. Even if you fail, you did your best. Simply trying and doing your best are commendable regardless of what the week throws at you. You won't win every battle. Also, you simply won't have your best days no matter how much you work or hope the current week goes your way. It's life.

So go get out there and make Monday mean something! Good luck!

You should be encouraged EVERY day; not just Mondays. However, I hope this brightened your day. Discussion time:

How do you motivate yourself for Mondays? How do you see Mondays?

Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.
